# Correction: Cardano's D3.1 deliverable is a SIP, not a CIP

**On 13 August we corrected Cardano's profile, which said research deliverable D3.1 would publish a migration strategy as a Cardano Improvement Proposal. Input Output's own wording calls it a SIP. The profile and roadmap now use the source's term. This is a naming correction only: no score, tier or evidence changed, and no code moved.**

A wording fix made on 13 August, so the term we use matches the term its research program uses.

## What we fixed

Our Cardano profile described deliverable D3.1 of the chain's research program as publishing a post-quantum migration strategy in the form of a Cardano Improvement Proposal, usually shortened to CIP. That is the familiar name for Cardano's public proposal process.

Input Output, the research and engineering firm behind Cardano, uses a different term for this deliverable in its own write-up: a SIP. We had translated it into the more common label. That was our edit, not theirs, and it is the kind of small drift that makes a claim harder to check against the source.

The profile text and the roadmap entry now use the term the source uses. If you want to compare our wording to the original, the link is in the sources below.
